Thanks for taking the time to write in.  I know there is a line between hosting a meal to do something nice for your family, and demanding financial assistance for all the hard work that goes into preparing and cooking such a large meal.
But I also think that part of coming together as a family means everyone doing their part; pitching in by cooking, or helping to pay for groceries.  Especially for families that are worried about their finances (but still want to come together with their friends and family) I don&#039;t see anything tacky about asking for help.
