I can&#039;t believe RD filed for bankruptcy! That IS sad. She used to wash my dad&#039;s work-hats, and dry them on coffee cans to help them keep their shape.  With all of my son&#039;s various caps (I have 4 boys), it sure was a great tip, and saved a lot of money on replacing them.
As to the cottage cheese standing it on end, do that with anything that you want to preserve longer (such as left-overs you put into a container), it keeps the air out - that&#039;s one tip I got from the Digest, and use it for anything that might spoil in the refrigerator.
Sad to see that Readers&#039; Digest filed for Chapter 11 this week - hard to believe; they&#039;ve been a part of my life and my parent&#039;s life for so many many years.........</description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I bought that book years ago; just loved it!
