You guys do know that Colgate bought out Tom’s a couple of years ago, right? Not that the products are necessarily different (I have no idea) but as a brand that obviously inspires loyalty, it does give one pause.

I have been successfully using the Tom’s of Maine woodspice deodorant for years. I’ve tried other brands but this by far works the best for me. What is interesting is that I have occasionally picked up other scents of this brand by accident and they haven’t worked as well. The holy grail is still to find a deodorant that comes without plastic packaging but I’m still looking for one that works for me. Tried crystals, scented drops and even plain old baking soda but the woodspice still works much better.

I am not as impressed with their toothpaste. It’s expensive and my teeth never feel clean afterwards.

@Kristin- I know, some of their flavors can be a bit strong! That’s a great idea on the deodorant comparison, I hadn’t thought to do that. Personally, I love Tom’s way more than the Dove I was using before I switched. It keeps me just as dry, the scent is MUCH better, and I don’t have to worry about putting those dangerous chemicals on my skin.

@Melissa- Thanks for the info on the propolis and myrrh toothpaste. I didn’t know that’s what propolis is made from! I’m sure other readers will appreciate knowing that as well.

Just a side note, if your vegan stay away from the propolis and myrh toothpaste. The propolis is derived from something bees make (not honey). I made the switch to their other line when I found out.

I LOVE the lavendar deoderant. The whole family uses that one.

I’ve used Tom’s a couple of times. I really enjoy their toothpaste. My mom on the other hand does not like it because “it tastes like I’m eating cloves.” lol Have you done a comparison of regular deodorant versus more eco-friendly choices? That’s something I actually have not looked into yet.
