Finally, I’m Back! An Update…

by heather

Hi Everyone!

Well, after a month of battling mutiple hacks, I can finally get back into the blog to write a post.

Apparently what happened is that GoDaddy got hacked, and then WordPress got hacked. The second hack really messed up the blog’s insides, and I couldn’t even write a post. Not good.

But thanks to Andrew, those “behind the scenes” bugs are now fixed. Wahoo!

There’s still a ton of design work I’ve got to redo (like the logo and theme colors), and I think there are some articles that might be missing, or have broken links. But I’m going to get on it. I’ve really missed blogging over the past month, and talking to all of you!

A lot has happened the past month.

A Quick Update…

First, I went to San Francisco for a week, and I have to say that it’s got to be the greenest city I’ve ever been to. Almost every restaurant we went into had compost bins for you to scrape your food into. And, there were tons of recycling bins. It was amazing. Take a look…

And then, there was this…

The city was spotless. And the public transportation was amazing. I really envy those of you living out there! It was an amazing experience, and I can’t wait to go back.

By the way, if you’re going, Do Not Miss Sam Wo’s restaurant in Chinatown. It’s cheap, it’s dirty, and it’s absolutely delicious.

Our New Addition…

We’ve also got a new member of the family. His name is Red, and I saw him in Animal Control right before we left to go to San Francisco. He’s a Bordeaux Mastiff, and was scheduled to be euthanized on May 18.

Can you believe they were going to euthanize this sweet dog?

Well, I couldn’t leave him in there, so I adopted him right when we got back. And what a CUPCAKE he is! He needs to put on about 50 lbs, so as big as he now he needs to get even bigger. And, I’m treating him for heartworms. But, he’s a gentle giant. By far the calmest living thing in our house.

So, that’s my update! I’m so, so happy the blog is fixed, and thanks to all of you for sticking around. I’ll be back to regular posting from now on, which is a relief! I’ve got some great reviews coming up, and a bunch of really cool posts planned out, so stay tuned!

Welcome back..from SF and from away from blogging.
So great seeing you again. I know someone else’s blog was hacked too and she’s with GoDaddy also. At least you are back now without too much damage…and with someone to keep you company while writing. He looks like a sweetheart! Good luck with him! Are we going to start seeing green pet related posts??? I hope so.

Wow. Guess what my CAPCHA letters are below? “puppies”!!! You think that’s a coincidence? Ha ha ha….

What a mush! And it seems like the composting laws in San Francisco are working!

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the welcome backs! 🙂

@Karen, I’m definitely going to do more green pet care posts. I really can’t imagine why I haven’t covered it before. I’ve got two other dogs in addition to Red…what I want to do first, though, is a post on frugal pet care. While doing research on Red’s care for heartworm, I found a way to treat him, and the rest of my dogs, MUCH cheaper than buying Heartguard each month. So that’s my next post! 🙂

@Jennifer- I know, I couldn’t believe the efforts San Fran has made to compost within the city. It was really inspiring!
